Shopper-Aide Ltd has been encouraging individuals, services, businesses, groups and clubs to become involved in creating a more Dementia Friendly Kintyre.
The Dementia Friends initiative which Alzheimer Scotland provides offers an insight into the issues facing people with Dementia.
The videoclips are accessed at www.alzscot.org.uk or our Development Coordinator can come and visit with you to talk through how you can become a Dementia Friend in 10 minutes.
Once signed up you will receive a forget-me-not pin badge to wear and a ‘Creating Dementia Friendly Communities’ window sticker.
If you do become a Dementia Friend, please come and collect a window sticker from the Shopper-Aide office at 47 Longrow, Cambeltown.
We would like to thanks those who have been so interested and willing to be involved, forget-me-not badges and stickers can be seen soon at Numero Dix Hair Salon, Argyll & Bute Council’s Customer Service Points, Campbeltown Co-op, MacTaggart Solicitors, Muasdale Stores, Muneroy Stores, Glenbarr Stores, Big Jessies Tea Room, The Network Centre, Campbeltown Dental Practice, Tarbert Chemist, The Cutting Crew Tarbert, The Yorkshire Building Society, TSB, Kintyre Carers Centre, Campbeltown Fire Service, GP’s surgeries, Campbeltown Cinema, Ardminish Stores, 1000 Voices and TSI, Friendly Yarns, local choirs and many more signing up and taking steps towards building a more Dementia Aware Kintyre.
